Daufuskie Island, located between Hilton Head Island and Savannah, is the southernmost inhabited sea island in South Carolina.
The island is 5 miles long by approx 2.5 miles wide. Much of Daufuskie’s land is undeveloped and roads are unpaved which gives the island its characteristic “are we still in the United States” feel. You will discover a place full of rich history and culture. The historic district is named in the Historic Places, boasting original Gullah constructed homes, churches and schools. Currently, Daufuskie has approximately 400 full time residents and 3 private/semi private communities.
